🔒 PRIVACY POLICY — OmegleLite
Effective Date: August 24, 2026
Last Updated: August 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how OmegleLite processes, collects, uses, retains, and protects technical data when you use the Service. We practice privacy by design: no user accounts, no live audio/video recording, and no selling or sharing of personal data.
1. Core Privacy Principles
OmegleLite ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting user privacy through privacy by design. Our platform is built around fundamental privacy guarantees:
- No User Accounts: You can use OmegleLite instantly without registering an email, phone number, name, or password.
- No Video/Audio Recording: Live video and audio streams travel directly between user browsers via peer-to-peer WebRTC connections. We do not intercept, record, or store them.
- No Text Chat Archives: Text messages are transmitted ephemerally in real time and are permanently cleared the moment a session ends.
- Zero Commercial Tracking: We do not use third-party advertising cookies, tracker pixels, cross-site profiling tools, or marketing analytics.
- No Data Selling: We do not sell, rent, lease, trade, or monetize your personal information to data brokers or advertisers under any circumstances.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit or connect to OmegleLite, our infrastructure automatically processes:
- IP Address: Processed temporarily for networking, DDoS mitigation, rate-limiting, and Trust & Safety enforcement (such as applying bans against abusive users or spammers).
- Session Timestamps & Connection Telemetry: The start and end time of your connection, connection status, and basic signaling metadata used to diagnose server health and WebRTC connectivity.
- Browser and Device Information: Standard browser User-Agent strings, operating system, browser type/version, and device classification (desktop or mobile) strictly to render the interface correctly and ensure WebRTC codec compatibility.
- Coarse Country-Level Location: Inferred from your IP address solely for regional matchmaking and routing. We do not collect precise GPS coordinates, street addresses, or city-level location.
2.2 Information You Provide Directly
- Support and Feedback Inquiries: If you voluntarily send an email to
omeglelite1@gmail.comor submit a feedback form, we process your email address and message content to respond to your inquiry. - User Abuse Reports and Incident Snapshots: When you submit an abuse report against a connected peer, the client captures a single visual canvas snapshot of the reported session. This snapshot is transmitted to our secure database solely to enable human moderation review and substantiate safety bans.
3. Information We NEVER Collect or Store
- Your real legal name or government identity
- Account passwords or login credentials
- Physical residential addresses, postal codes, or phone numbers
- Precise geolocation data (GPS coordinates)
- Biometric identifiers, facial recognition templates, or voiceprints
- Credit card numbers, bank account numbers, or billing data
- Chat transcripts, text chat message logs, or session histories
- Live audio recordings or continuous video streams
4. Video and Audio — Absolute No-Recording Architecture
OmegleLite operates using WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communication) protocols. Media packets flow directly between your web browser and the matched stranger's web browser over encrypted DTLS-SRTP connections.
Our backend signaling servers only facilitate initial session handshakes. We do not record your video, do not record your audio, and do not store your conversations. Once your session ends, no trace of your live video or audio remains on our servers.
Exception: A single-frame canvas snapshot is captured only when an active user explicitly clicks the "Report" button to review reported violations of our Community Guidelines.
5. How We Use Your Information
The limited technical data we process is used strictly for:
- Facilitating Connections: Brokering peer-to-peer WebRTC handshakes between active users;
- Security & Abuse Prevention: Detecting and mitigating DDoS attacks, spam bots, and automated scrapers;
- Trust & Safety Enforcement: Reviewing reported incident snapshots and enforcing temporary or permanent IP bans;
- Legal Compliance: Meeting legal obligations and reporting child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement.
6. Cookies and Local Browser Storage
OmegleLite uses only minimal, strictly necessary localStorage keys and session cookies solely to preserve basic user preferences on your local device (such as dark/light theme, terms consent status, and mute/device toggles). We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or cross-site behavioral cookies.
7. Third-Party Infrastructure and Service Providers
We work with trusted technical infrastructure providers to operate the platform securely:
- Cloudflare: Content delivery network (CDN), DDoS mitigation, WAF security, and TURN relay routing for WebRTC NAT traversal. Cloudflare processes IP addresses in encrypted transit.
- Supabase: Cloud database infrastructure used to securely maintain rate-limiting counts, IP ban lists, and encrypted report snapshots.
- Cloud Signaling Hosting (Render / Railway): Hosts our real-time Node.js and Socket.IO matchmaking signaling servers.
We do not share, sell, or rent your data to any advertising networks, data brokers, or marketing companies.
8. International Data Processing and Hosting Regions
OmegleLite utilizes globally distributed infrastructure. Data may be processed in server locations where our infrastructure providers maintain facilities across North America, Europe, and other global hosting regions. By using the Service, you acknowledge this technical routing necessary to provide global real-time communications.
9. Data Retention Schedule
| Data Category | Retention Period |
|---|---|
| Ephemeral IP & Signaling Logs | Maximum 30 days |
| Session Timestamps | Maximum 30 days |
| Abuse Reports & Snapshots | Up to 1 year |
| Permanent Ban Lists | Retained as hashed/blocked IP records |
| Support Emails | Until resolved + 90 days |
